From rescue services and affordable groceries to safe housing and crisis support, our members are proud to help organizations making a difference across the North Shore and beyond.

SEARCH AND RESCUE

North Shore Rescue

$1,470

Worthy Vice President Dan Pistilli presented our donation to members of North Shore Rescue, whose volunteers provide life-saving search and rescue services around the clock, every day of the year.

From mountain and helicopter rescues to urban searches, emergency response and public education, the team helps people in need without charging for its services.

FOOD SECURITY

Quest Food Exchange

Eagles Trustee Judith Cahill visited Quest to present our contribution to manager David and Lenore from Donations.

Quest helps people experiencing food insecurity shop for affordable groceries with dignity and choice. Working with food partners across British Columbia, its five Metro Vancouver markets, including North Vancouver, help bridge the gap between food banks and conventional grocery stores.

SAFETY AND SUPPORT

North Shore Crisis Services Society

Eagles Trustee Judith Cahill met with Laura to present our donation.

The Society supports women and children leaving domestic abuse and violence through emergency shelter, transitional and longer-term housing, and practical services. Its work also includes homelessness prevention, support for children and teens, outreach and a 24-hour support line.

Lookout Housing and Health Society

Eagles member Ponnie Matin Pelchat presented our donation with Curtis Geneste of Lookout.

Founded in 1971, Lookout helps vulnerable adults access shelter, housing, healthcare and other essential support. Across Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland, its programs offer practical assistance and a welcoming, low-barrier approach to people facing complex challenges.

SUPPORTING INDIGENOUS YOUTH

Presenting Our $1,160 Donation to UNYA

The cheque was presented to Cheryl Robinson, UNYA's Chief Executive Officer, with several young people joining us for the presentation in UNYA's music area.

During our visit, we had an opportunity to see some of the spaces and programs available to young people and to learn more about UNYA's work.

UNYA supports Indigenous youth through a wide circle of services including cultural teachings, mentorship, education, housing, wellness and recreation. Its approach recognizes young people as experts in their own lives and places culture, respect and individual strengths at the heart of its work.

Every Child Matters orange shirts available at the Urban Native Youth Association
Every Child Matters orange shirts available at UNYA ahead of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

With the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation approaching on September 30, we also saw UNYA's Every Child Matters orange shirts being made available.

The visit provided an opportunity not only to present the Eagles' donation, but also to learn more about the organization, the young people it serves and the work taking place in the community.

We were very pleased to support UNYA and thank Cheryl Robinson, the staff and the young people who welcomed us.

ANOTHER 2026 PRESENTATION

Supporting GSL North Shore Youth Football

Eagles of the North Shore were pleased to donate $1,580 to the Gordon Sturtridge League, supporting youth football on the North Shore and in Squamish.

The Gordon Sturtridge League has been part of the local community since 1956 and celebrates its 70th anniversary in 2026.

GIVING BACK

$1,580 Presented to GSL Football

Eagles member Brad McCormick, a former GSL player and coach, presented the cheque to the 2026 GSL player group.

The presentation took place during a pre-season pass, kick and run competition at Norgate Park, hosted by the GSL, coaches and BC Lions players.

It was a great opportunity to support local young athletes and recognize the coaches, volunteers and families who help keep youth football thriving on the North Shore.

OUR 2026 COMMUNITY GIVING

Making a Difference Across Our Community

As of September 2026, the Eagles Club North Vancouver has donated $14,315 to local charities and community organizations, with several months still remaining in the year.

In addition to these direct donations, fundraising continues through initiatives such as our recyclable can and bottle collection for Second Chance Cheekye Ranch.

Second Chance Cheekye Ranch

Approximately $800 raised so far

Eagles members and supporters are continuing to collect and return recyclable cans and bottles, with the proceeds donated to Second Chance Cheekye Ranch.

This is an ongoing fundraising initiative, so the total continues to grow with every return.
